00:00:10 Monk Theophan of Jordanville in his 2010 “Essay on Ecumenism” writes:

00:00:20 “Today World Orthodoxy calls all Christians to form a ‘united Front’ in order to defend ‘Christian values and ideas’ against the decadence of the world.

00:00:30 In order to rightly understand history, one must understand it in the light of Orthodoxy. World history is a battle between God and the evil spirits. Man is gradually falling away from God, being slowly but

00:00:40 thoroughly prepared for the coming of Antichrist. For this the evil spirits need something which, despite all differences, can function as a factor in uniting all

00:00:50 people. This uniting factor is the wish for peace and human morals.

00:00:55 Today we see how both immorality and religious controversies increase. It will reach a peak, until finally

00:01:00 people on earth have had enough. At that moment Antichrist will come and promise to end all

00:01:05 immorality, wars, hunger, religious disputes etc. with the result that people of all nations and religions

00:01:10 momentarily will respond to his call.

00:01:15 In focusing on ‘Christian values,’ we supposedly fight for Christ and His Church, but in fact the exact

00:01:20 opposite is taking place. We replace faithfulness to Christ and His Church with ‘Christian values and ideals’,

00:01:25 and believe that to be the main purpose of our lives as Orthodox Christians. Thus, the defense of human

00:01:30 values and ideas, social work, building of Churches, monasteries, seminaries, conferences etc. has cunningly

00:01:35 replaced that which is most essential — faithfulness to Christ.

00:01:40 In replacing Truth and faithfulness to Christ with these vague human values, which are found in most

00:01:45 religions, but which never will be able to lead a person to repentance and deification, we are in fact

00:01:50 destroying the Church and leading people away from salvation. Morals, decent Christian behavior,

00:01:55 socialwork etc. are only a result and can never be a cause. True defense of Christian values and

00:02:00 ideas must therefore begin with faithfulness to the Church itself and not the other way around.

00:02:05 The defense of ‘Christian values,’ as they are being presented today, are therefore only breaking down

00:02:10 the firm Orthodox confession, and functioning as sweet bait for the preparation of all Christians and

00:02:15 non-Christians to eventually unite together around one Chalice and one ‘Savior.’”

00:02:25 We invite the readers of this video to compare the quite revealing and Orthodox revelations of Monk

00:02:30 Theophan to the following statements of Patriarch Kirill which he offered, only recently, in 2022 & 2017.

00:02:40 Patriarch Kirill in September of 2022 stated:

00:02:45 “Modern-day challenges and attempts to build the world order without relying upon moral values as a

00:02:50 pillar have resulted … in the loss of the notion of justice… I am confident that the peace-making dialogue

00:02:55 of the religious leaders along with their influence on people’s minds and hearts can and should help

00:03:00 overcome present-day challenges, harmonize international relations and establish a just world order.”

00:03:15 “The leaders of world religions are looking to give a good and convincing answer [to global challenges],

00:03:20 showing an example of mutually respectful dialogue and a joint search for mechanisms to protect

00:03:25 traditional values. I would like to again thank my brothers, leaders and representatives of the traditional

00:03:30 religions of Russia for such an example set to us by interreligious dialogue in Russia… the common

00:03:35 understanding of the threats to traditional values helps unite to jointly resist evil.”

00:03:50 So while Monk Theophan, and all truly faithful Orthodox Christians, call upon all people to become

00:03:55 faithful to Christ, in His one Orthodox Church and unto their eternal salvation (for it was for these

00:04:00 reasons that Christ incarnated for us) - Patriarch Kirill is working for the establishment of a “just

00:04:05 world order” founded through the joint-cooperation of religions, rooted upon “traditional values”,

00:04:10 bound together in “peace” and united against iniquity.

00:04:15 Such a humanistic mission not only bears the stench of the Antichrist but will eventually lead its

00:04:20 subjects to worship before his throne - for he is the “christ” who will grant the “kingdom of this

00:04:25 world” which they are now so fervently seeking to build.
